Center for Cybersecurity Management

The Jones College of Business Center for Cybersecurity Management is housed in the Middle Tennessee State University Department of Information Systems and Analytics under the leadership of Department Chair Dr. Tim Greer.

Launching in October 2025, the center will serve as a hub that enriches learning, builds workforce pipelines, and supports the community. Unlike many cybersecurity centers that focus solely on technical skills, the Jones College Center for Cybersecurity Management focuses on cybersecurity management, a critical and often underserved dimension of cybersecurity, positioning Jones College as a unique leader in preparing professionals to manage cybersecurity strategy, policy, and risk.

The center’s mission is threefold: enrich the cybersecurity management degree programs, build vital connections between academia and the cybersecurity industry, and serve Tennessee by strengthening regional cybersecurity resilience.

The center will enrich student learning by coordinating high-impact experiences which complement the classroom and help students translate theory into practice, co-curricular activities such as competitions, guest speakers, simulation development, and applied research; support regional workforce development by hosting industry panels, fostering internship pipelines, and offering collaborative opportunities that benefit both students and employers; and amplify community impact with cybersecurity awareness initiatives tailored for small businesses, nonprofits, k-12 schools, and senior citizens—groups frequently targeted by cybercriminals but often lacking resources to defend themselves.

By blending academic rigor, industry collaboration, and community outreach, MTSU is positioning itself as a distinctive leader in cybersecurity management education.
